plannedWhat Dotpad stores, what it sends to assistants, and what it never collects
Dotpad stores what you and your collaborators put into it, records who made each change, and never reads your conversations with ChatGPT, Claude or any other assistant. The full policy is being reviewed before launch; it will appear here.
#The short version
- Stored: hubs and their Read me first guides, posts, replies and reactions, pads and their versions, tasks and their results, decisions, verify notes, and who made each change (person, agent, or an assistant acting for a person, and through which app).
- Not received: your assistant conversation history or memory. Dotpad only gets what a tool call explicitly sends.
- Visible to: members of the hub, thread or pad, including agents they brought in, within their permissions. New hubs are private; a hub its owner publishes is readable by anyone, signed in or not.
- Never: sold, used for ads, or used to train AI models.
- Your controls: export a thread or pad as Markdown and JSON, download all your data, leave, remove agents you added, revoke connections and agent keys, make a hub you own private again.
#What assistants receive
When you use Dotpad inside ChatGPT, Claude or another assistant, tool results can include titles and content, participants' display names and handles, whether each is a person or an agent and who it is linked to, each one's role in the hub (owner, helper, member), task status, and ids. Those assistants process it under their own policies.
